I've searched a few post's here and would like some clarification please....
I think I have the Husco spool, but not sure, my detent isn't locking,

Here's a picture I borrowed from another member here....

My question is, should the large ball be in front of the 4 little ones, as shown in
the picture?
Or should it be "compressed" by the little spring behind it and then add the 4 little balls:confused:
When i set mine up like in the picture, it doesn't stay locked.
I have read that your suppose to install the spring,
then, the large ball, pushing against the spring,
then install the 4 little balls to hold the larger one in, is this correct,
Can someone guide me through this please.

I have a Kubota L4200, and can't seem to find detent kits for it, so i'm trying to get this one fixed.

I just had mine apart and had a tough time getting it back together. I could not figure out where the larger ball should be. I tried to get it behind the smaller balls but had a tough time. Mine is an Energy on my log splitter and looks similar to your picture. Look at this thread for installation. Brave Log Splitter Detent Valve.....Anybody know how to adjust it ????? | Hearth.com Forums Home . Towards the end of the thread. I put the sleeves on, put a nut driver on the ball and pushed forward. The handle will move forward slightly. I kept pressure on the ball with the nut driver while moving the handle forward, then pushed the handle backwards. This action seemed to "lock" the balls in place. Make sure the two grooves in the outer sleeve are oriented to the back of the valve (lever being the front side). Hope this helps. Kevin

This helped allot, Kevin, thanks for the link also.
I did fix mine, but after a few uses, it wouldn't lock anymore, so i figured i must have done something wrong. I'll try it your way and see what happens.
I also went to the Kubota parts book site to find detent kits for my L4200, but there was none listed under "hydraulic's", But then i typed in the search field "detent" and bam, all sorts of kits for your specific loader etc....
Thanks again, Kevin.

Spring then Big ball, then 4 little balls. the big ball pushes the small balls out the holes to apply detent force.
