Greetings;
I recently bought a used Howse RTC 48 rototiller. After I got it out of the back of the truck I noticed that I could turn the PTO shaft in one direction (by hand) and have the tines move, but not in the other. If the PTO shaft is turned CCW everything moves freely, it basically will not turn clock wise which is the way my tractor PTO turns. I did hook it up to the tractor and sure enough the moment the PTO is engaged the slip clutch on the tiller starts to slip and the tines do not move. This is a gear drive tiller and all fluids have been changed and refilled. Does anyone have any idea of what to check next? I'm thinking of pulling off the outboard gear box cover and seeing if there is anything obvious but other than that I have no ideas. Any comments or insights appreciated.
Thanks, Erik
