I have an early 90s Ford 3930 2wd. It has an Allied 394 loader with a 2 spool valve. I wanted to add a rear remote so I purchased a BLB BM70-3 valve and installed it on the tractor. After installation my loader arms would only go about as high as the top of the hood and the bucket would move at all. I did a bunch of trouble shooting thinking the problem was with the valve as everything was working fine before. I verified everything was connected correctly. I verified flow through the valve. I verified that my tractor is open hydraulics as well as the valve. I even put a closed centre plug in the valve just in case that was the problem. There was no change. I finally gave up and put the old valve back on thinking everything would be right in the world again....wrong. It's doing the same thing with the old valve.
I've done some further trouble shooting to see if I could figure out the problem. I cracked all the cylinders to ensure there wasn't an air lock. The bucket started to move a little after doing that but not much. I removed the return line at the selector valve under the seat and stared the tractor. I had good flow there. I changed the hydraulic filter because I've read that can be a problem...no change after the filter change.
I talked to my local farm equipment dealer (Case IH). It had them scratching their head. The only thing they though it could be is the quick connect at the junction box that comes out of the selector valve and goes to the loader valve. They said they can sometimes hang up and cause a problem like I'm describing. I don't see that as being the problem since I'm getting good flow when I removed the return line at the selector valve.
So I'm at a loss. Something has happened from the time I removed my old valve and put the new valve on and now it's effecting the old valve.
Any help would be appreciated.
