Help with Ken's Bolt on Hook

I am drilling holes for my Ken's bolt on hooks in my 525 loader with quick attach bucket and have run into an issue. As the drill bit got almost through it gets hung up because the underside of the bucket has two plates and they are not even so the bit has gone through part of the top of the bucket but the rest I can not remove because the drill bit catches.... Can I try to punch it out.....should I get a torch and try and heat it....stuck and not sure what to do. Ideas?

This will be an issue all along the top of the loader bucket. I did not want to mount it with part of the hook base hanging off the edge..figured that would weaken the whole hook assembly.

Do you have a Dremel tool? If so you can use a small grinding stone to remove that extra material of the second layer, a round file should work also. No torch should be needed.

Thanks a bunch the dremel tool worked. I will say this the drill bit dulls quickly.

You can also spin the bit in reverse with some pressure to remove that small chip that is hanging up the drill bit.
