Tc 40
I recently bought a 2002 New Holland Tc40 with front end loader. While using it started to sputter/ stall and Died, It was used when I purchased it and I dont have a service Manual. It appeared to be out of fuel ( the float must not be working) so I put fuel in it and purged any air from the fuel filter and the Block ( not sure what it really is called Distributes fuel to all cylinders) cranked it over and it attempted to start but never really did. I have checked all of the easy things that I know of like the pto, seat and transmission switches and still cant get the engine to start. I have been reading this forum for quite a while and am very impressed with how knowledgeable you guys are so I am asking for help with this problem. I can do mecha:confused:nical work Im just very inexperienced at diagnosing problems. If anyone can think of something that it could be or of something that Im missing I would greatly appreciate the help....

Thanks

First off is this tractor a diesel? Did you run it out of fuel? If you ran it out of fuel you need to bleed the lines starting at the main fuel lines to the injectors in that order. If it didnt run out of fuel you probable have trash in the lines and the only way to remedy that is start at the tank pull each line loose to see if you have a good flow. once you find the blockage re-bleed the lines.

Change the fuel filter first. If you have alot of debris in filter; make sure you have good flow TO the filter. After replacing filter, bleed lines at injector pump. If still no start, you may have to bleed at each injector. REMEMBER to put a battery charger on battery while doing all bleeding as you will wear down battery. REMEMBER that when loosening any injector lines, high pressure will be present when cranking engine. DO NOT USE ANY TYPE OF STARTING FLUIDS!
