Hey all,
Just purchased a new Farm Star D500 and went to set it up and the drive shaft is about 12" short of th PTO. Am I missing something very basic? The PTO drive shaft is about 36" and looks like it should be 48". Any help?

Just to cover the simple things.... Sometimes the shafts are stuck when you get them. try to tap it lightlly with a plastic or rubber mallet around the shaft and try to pull the shaft out farther.

SCB,
OK, now I feel really stupid. Yes it was just stuck and it fits. Thanks for the information.

Don't thank me, Thank Bird. I read a reply he made to the same question a few months ago. Happy Digging. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

G,
I'm not sure if that was the post I was referring to or not. I think it has been covered more than once on this board. I think I read Bird give the same answer once. Either way, This place is a great source of info. All appologies if I have attributed the advice to the wrong person. Just trying to give back for all I have learned here /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I had the same problem. I went to hook up the PHD the first time and the shaft was a good foot short. Thing was, I must have read that post at some point as well cause I KNEW it was me that had the problem and not the PHD. I must have spent an hour tapping and pulling and crying and cussing. I was finally at the point where I was going to have to come in here and search or beg for help when it just easy as pie, slid down to the desired length.

first case for me when TBN exposed my stupidity without even logging on. And for that I say Thank You.

No problem. I only posted the link because it was posted by me (I knew where to find it /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif) and it was at about the time frame you had mentioned. Just trying to make it easier for some to get answers is all. G

P.S. No apology necessary. G
