A friend has emailed me 2 bitmaps that are actually a single drawing that was just too big to scan on a regualr sheet sized scanner. ( drawing is 13 7/8" long. ( it's a template I need to bond to some metal stock prior to cutting and milling. )

He broke it down into 2 scans, with a reference line so that I can print both pages, match the line up and have a '1' page template with which to torch some metal.

Only problem is windoes pic/fax viewer seems to be scaling the prints.. My 2 pages, printed, and connected at the reference line have shrunk to 12 7/8 inch.. or 13" depending on which of the 2 'full page' options I use to print.

This is a detailed drawing with holes to be milled.. so i can't simply slide it out to length to make it fit.. I REALLY need windows to print it like it was scanned. I tried printing from paintshop and it gives me a scan that would take about 4 monitor screens to print.. and is thuus.. 'expanding' it.

What are my options.

thanks

Try Irfanview IrfanView - Official Homepage - one of the most popular viewers worldwide.
When you select PRINT, a menu opens which allows you to change certain aspects of the image. One of these aspects is PRINT ORIGINAL SIZE.

Anyway, it's a free download.

Right now, it sounds like the image scaled to fit on one sheet of paper. Make sure all margin setting are at zero. You may lose some of the image since printers cannot print to the edge of the paper (none I've used could).

Anyway, see if Irfanview works for you.

I agree with the prior poster-Irfanview is a great free program,
I would do one added step-I would combine the sketch back to one photo full sized and let Irfanview determine where to split it into two pages. I also would draw a line exactly one inch long (or two inches long) to assure the size is accurate, and also draw a diagonal line across a blank area near the page break to easily align the pages.
