I'm disconnecting the snowblower for the frist time and can't figure out how to disconnect the male driveline form the subframe drive shaft. From the diagram figure in the manual, it seperates in the middle (?) I see white clips on both ends but don't see how it seperates. The linchpin is removed and male hitch level is the rearward / unlock position.
Thanks

There is a ring at the rear of the drive shaft that you pull forward towards the front of the tractor. Once that is pulled back the shaft is moved forward off the transmission spline. Do you have the snow blower off the front mount?

I did mine last week, and I'm in the process of preparing the mower deck. That drive shaft attaches in the opposite manner. Push the ring forward and push the mower deck drive shaft onto the transmission splined shaft. For me this is more difficult since the drive shaft is shorter and the mower deck is under the tractor, there is just less room to make the finer/strength movements.

Thank you for the help...will try this later and let you know.
The instuction manual isn't much help. Do you know of any instructional videos on line? I sure it just getting thru the process once or twice.

Snow blower off the front mount? not sure. I just disconnected the linchpins per instructions so far. Haven't looked any further.

It's a 2400 Massey subcompact and I got it January 2nd as it was snowing ( NH) for the first time. Still figuring it out...but is worked like a dream all winter.

If you got the mid Mount Mower with the tractor, take a look at that driveshaft to ID the ring. It releases the balls that lock into the groove on the splined shaft.

I don't know of any video.

Relatively new myself to the PTO drive shaft deal. I thought it worked similar to a quick disconnect coupling but instead of pull to release the lock balls it was push, go figure. Took me a bit of a what the .... before I got it disconnected, lol, felt like and idgit.:D

If you're talking about removing the short shaft from the back of the blower, you don't really need to, though it can be done; its locking ring is pretty deep in there.

Just remove the 4' driveshaft from under the tractor, as was mentioned, by pulling on the ring at the rear to release the quick-connection, slide entire shaft forward (toward sub-frame), drop the rear away from the transmission, then slide (rearward) off the sub frame.

The blower will release from the sub-frame shoe by removing the linch pin, then the locking lever. I find it much easier to handle by removing the sub-frame and blower as separate pieces- together, thy're really heavy.

A flat, 4-wheel dolly for both the blower and the sub-frame will also make it much easier!
