Help with slip clutch

Hi i got a john deere 717 7 ft shredder and the slip clucth was slipping very bad so i bought new disc now i am not sure how to adjust it proberly. It runs 4 disc and it has 4 bolts to tighten it any help would be appreciated. Thank You

Most people recommend to loosen the bolts some, then crank up the bush hog to full speed and drop it into some heavy brush and watch to see if it slips. If it does, tighten it up some and repeat. You want it adjusted so it is just past the point of slipping in heavy brush. That way, it should run all day in brush/heavy wet grass but slip when the blades come in contact with something a lot more solid than brush. This assumes your 717 mower is a three point hitch mower???

Thanks kebo but i think this john deere one may be differant it seems that when you tighten the bolts it takes pressure off disc.I am still looking but thanks for the help and i think i will try it in tall grass and see how it adjust. OH P.S Thanks Will.

Yes it is and i found that and printed it off but it did not say how to adjust it atleast not where i found it. That was what i was asking figured there may be some john deere guys on here.

In the service section (#55), they talk about clutch adjustment.

Thank You Willl wasn't the same slip clutch but i think it adjust the same I am going to adjust mine this way and see how it works Thanks agian for your time and the link.
