See if you are getting oil out of the T and PB ports without moving the joy stick. If you are then the PB fitting is not with the new valve. Oil should only come out of the T port until you move the joy stick.

Did you get the unit from a dealer or are you just trying to use any old joystick? Open VS closed center would be the first question.

A friend blew the pump off the side of his Bolens farting around with the hydraulics, different valves and so forth.

BTW, a little more description in the Thread Title helps with searches and makes this a more useful site.

Ive done so much , let me describe this unit,,it came with a threaded hole on each side,,I am assuming this is an inlet and outlet,,then the 4 ports where u conn ect the lines that go to hydraulic cylinders, I opened all the lines and determined which line was the suplly just by cranking the tractor and seeing which one the fluid came from, the lines going to the cylinders are pretty straight foreward,,i conn the supply line to what I thought was the inlet,,no fluid came out until I moved the joystick,,and yes the fluid did run out the outlet marked tank,,there are also to ports they have to be accessed by removing a plug with an allen wrench and one the lines from under tractor was connected to the one I took off,,but that loader was not working properly, cast into the top of the loader is a T and P,,I just assumed the P was for a power beyond, but u know what assuming gets u

You can't cap the power beyond. This goes back to work your 3pt hitch. A picture of your new valve will help.

Your old valve should look similar to this one.

old valve.jpg

The the hoses on top go to your cylinders. The port on the right is in from your pump. This hose could be coming from a distribution block on the side of your transmission. If so, there should be a diverter valve that needs to be turned all the way clockwise to run a front loader.

The port on the left is out to tank.

The port on the side with fitting is your power beyond. This will go back to feed your 3pt hitch valve.

Your new valve needs to be open center with power beyond. Your pump will be either a 7GPM or 10GPM depending on if it has been upgraded or is a later model. The flow rating of your new valve needs to be at least the same as your pump.

Hope this helps!

Your new valve needs to be converted to power beyond. Some valves cannot be converted. You need to contact the place you got the valve and see if they have what you need to convert. Most consist of a small plug that is inserted into one of the ports that changes the flow from the tank port to that port, now the power beyond, when the valve is idle.

When you move the lever, the flow is directed to one side of a cylinder and the fluid from the other side of the cylinder will flow back to the tank port.

Does that make sense?
