Tractor
Main: Case 235
I've had a difficult time trying to help my neighbor price her tractor for sale.

It's a 2001 B2400, HST, and has 2,335 hours on it. It has a LA352 FEL and Bush Hog SQ480 mower. Ag tires. She also has a Bush Hog BX480 box blade with scarifiers, a 48" bush hog grading blade and a landscape rake. I charged the battery, and the tractor started right up and seemed to run well. It has been kept under an open pole barn.

She would probably want the 2-axle bumper-pull trailer to go with it all, but the tires on the trailer are questionable.

I know she would not want to bother selling it piecemeal.

Thanks!

What someone wants and what someone gets are two different things sometimes. It would be nice to sell it all at once and a very cheap price might make it happen.

That is a bunch of stuff to sell, but in order to come out good financially she might be better off selling whatever people want to buy, possibly with the exception of the tractor selling last.

Maybe she could have a dealer sell it on consignment, but of course that would take work by someone to make that happen.

That does sound like a very nice setup for someone starting out though.

Selling the implements separately would bring more money, but it's understandable that a package deal is preferred. It's worth the time to clean up the tractor so it shows well. There are some internet listings for 2wd B2400's in the $4-6,000 range. There is also one for a 4x4 B2400 with loader + mid-mower for $10,900, in Michigan. Keep in mind the higher the price, the fewer the potential buyers, since they must either have the dough or be able to borrow, so it can take longer to make a sale. Don't know if equipment like this brings good prices in your area (tractor pricing is regional), but if it's in good condition, that should be a pretty attractive setup for the right buyer.

craiglist it,
TractorByNet.com | Compact tractor forums, news, reviews, information. not sure how many listings you get free for non dealer doing.
facebook it, but ya gotta find the "groups" to list the stuff in.

see about consignment auctions. toss it all in an auction and let it all go.

call up some local dealers they might be able to line someone up.

==========
that is a lot of "items" and cost for it all in one lump sum could be rather high than what others willing to pay for it all.

tractor plus 1 maybe 2 implements.

trailer separately most likely.

I called the local Kubota dealer and they can't even find anything on the tractor, searching by the serial number, so I am unable to verify the MY. He thought it is a 2410, but the hood decal is 2400. I verified it is 4WD. I try to post pix Monday.

I Entered "B2400" into Google and there is a lot of info - including prices of others of the same model for sale around the country.

Try this for tractor specs: TractorData.com Kubota B24 tractor information
For used prices: TractorHouse.com | KUBOTA B24 For Sale - 8 Listings - Page 1.

I think that a well cared for tractor is as good as a new one...and it is more interesting. I'd also say that the tractorhouse prices are about 25% higher than our local used tractors go for.

That isn't a rare, oddball model. Kubota made the B2400 from 1995-1999. Any dealer should be able to verify the manufacturing date from the serial number, get parts for it and do service on it.
