Here are some cell phone pics of my new Gatormade box trailer. It is 8.5x20 with 5200# axles, and the inside of the box is about 7'6". As you can see, it is too much trailer for my Suburban. Had a convo with the Chevy salesman about that today, a bigger truck is in my future.

I am using this to haul my music stuff, you can see a bunch of speakers and amplifier racks inside, and a pile of misc stuff my guys tossed way up front, causing the tongue to be entirely too heavy. It handles a lot better when it is not loaded carelessly like that.

Also there is an example of the crappy wiring, which is my only real complaint about this trailer. I am going to rewire the tongue because the factory job is just not going to hold up as you can see by the electrical tape holding the ground wire for the electric tongue jack.

Now my smaller trailer can hold mowers and weed eaters all year and maybe my girlfriend will be able to park her car in the garage again. :)

Oh before someone asks, it cost $7800 including all the options. Winch and extra battery box+battery, mounted spare tire, heavy ramp door w/gap fillers, electric tongue jack, LED lighting, outside loading lights, exhaust fan, 3/4" walls, two rear parking jacks, about 80 feet of e-track (two rows), and 8 D-rings in the floor.

That is a nice trailer but like you said the wiring could use some work.:confused:

Yeah, thanks to the threads I read here, I was not surprised by the bad quality wiring. For the price I paid I don't mind fixing it myself but if they just charged $500 more and did it right I would have paid it and they could have made more profit. Go figure.

dp any thoughts on SRW vs DRW for this? I obviously do not care about fitting into the grocery store parking spaces. I might jump on the next early-00s F350 4x4 7.3PSD I see if the Chevy dealer doesn't have something exciting.

One thing I am keeping in mind is it is not very easy to back this thing around a city intersection. I had to go from a 2-lane street back around onto a 1-lane one-way the other day, next to the Yum Center which has those metal poles all along the sidewalks to keep drunk drivers from running over crowds of people, and I am not sure if I could have done it with a longer truck than the Suburban.

I did get to see why those metal poles on the sidewalk are good, though. A drunk driver crashed into one while we were there and it probably prevented serious injuries to people who were standing on the sidewalk. The guy almost got away with it but he foolishly parked his car only a few hundred feet away so the police did not have any difficulty finding him.

That is a very good looking trailer. Your right though, they would sell a ton more of them if they took care of the small details.

I personally like the extended cab F350 srw trucks. Its no bigger than your Suburban.

I know the area well around the Yum Center. Was just down there three weeks ago and spent a night at the Galt House.

No more than what you have in there I think a 3/4 Ton burb or an excursion would work well.

Boy I hear that. When I bought my tilt, couldn't believe my eyes when I seen scotch blocks in the wiring.
