Sweet:thumbsup: Don't know much about Massey model numbers, just of their reputation and quality. How many HP on that model?

Hi . This is the new 1600 serie. This 1643 have 43.4 Hp (engine), and almost 35 PTO it is a very confortable tractor, runs smooth like you cannot imagine, everything is set with rubber, under the platform, even the foldable ROPS have rubber to kill noise. It is bulky and you have good feeling driving it. The seat is confortable and has armrest (almost a lazy-boy seat:laughing:). Only for the thrill go and try one, you might be tempting to bring one home:D:D, or better do as I did take your wife with you, SHE will take one home.

Don`t spoil the baby!...Get ur dirty......Congrats!...Fine looking unit!
In a previous post it was noted the tractor stops suddenly when releasing the HST pedal but ok if you release gradually...Did you find the same?...I guess it like anything else, once you get the hang of it , no issue!
I`m looking at the same beast as well...% for 72 months certainly helps with " tractor shopping"...!
Enjoy!

Hi Beaverhouse. Of course I,m aware of the HST stopping suddenly, I wrote it:D. If you ride on the higher range ( rabbit) the reaction will be less noticeable ( but you feel it slowing down ). But on the lower range the reaction is **more feelable**.I understand the HST to work like this: on a certain range, suppose when compressing the pedal to the floor you go 10 mph, in the middle 5mph and fully release, 0 mph, well if you are on the floor and suddenly release completely, it will go from 10 to 0 fast,:( but on the high range you will slow progressively ,but on a lower range ( tortoise or snail) you will feel the reaction a lot faster . So you only have to get use to the pedal and analyse how your machine works on this or this range. So if you release the pedal slowly you will fell the compression progressively, exacly like a gear tractor it depends on witch range (gear) you are, but it still a nice feeling.
BEWARE, the seller told me to choose the range correctly. If you are on a flat ground, not pulling you can use the high range because even with an average load the tractor will pull BUT THE CLUTCH PACKAGE WILL WEAR FAST , exactly like pulling on 4th gear on a gear tractor . So choosing a lower range will NOT damage your tractor but if you use a too high range you will have your clutches wear fast.....
On my old Oliver when I was taking the bucket down and stopping the hydraulic fast, I could feel a shock when the bucket stops, but on the 1643 it is like there is a **suspension** on the hydraulic , everything is smooth.
The 0% 72 month is not true at least overhere. Cash price is a lot lower ,sometime $4000 less. So if I pay $28000 cash and $32000 for 0%-72month, well it is NOT a real 0% it is $4000 more for 72 month.
You will love that tractor. A well built machine. Enjoy yourself. Roger
