Ballast threads are abundant - so here is what I learned from TBN

Make is close - tight to the tractor

Don't make it top heavy

And always have a good dolly to make mount/unmounting easy...

It's a drain pipe left over from street work, cut down and filled witgh concrete, and a tool holder (4" pvc pipe) for good measure.

I estimate it weighs about 325# - but math was never my strong point.

Very intuative.

Now I'm just wondering if you could fill that pipe up with a liquid refreshment and plumb a long straw to the operator area. :D

Nice job. I like it!

That's just jim-dandy. Looks like a good 1 day spring project for me. Hope you don't mind me stealing your idea.

I can understand the need for ballast but just wanted to ask whether a rear mounted implement would serve the same purpose? Is this ballast setup heavier and/or more maneuverable? Just trying to learn :)

It should provide more ballast in a more compact size, than an implement hanging off the back.

Nice job c-and-a!

That looks good. :D :D :D

One the next one add a chain hook and ball hitch receiver.:D

A proper slot down the middle and it could hold a chainsaw too.:D

Thanks for the comments folks...

I have taken the MMM and Bagger off for the winter - so this takes up far less room in the rear allowing me to maneuver easier for the driveway clearing in the winter and it will assist in moving 20yds of mulch in the spring - again, lotsa of back and forth in tight areas...

Enjoy folks!
