That is the way it works you buy something and then still look and see what the prices are to see how good a deal you got, i still do it on things and you will always find a better deal and will kick yourself if you see one, but you cant always do that as you wanted it then and that was what your choices at the time were.
I had been searching CL and local auctions for a 20+ hp 4wd cut for quite some time. Mostlty interested in Yanmars. Came across a YM2000 2wd for 2k and thought that was a fairly decent price , maybe even get it for 1800. Well I past on it cause it wasnt 4wd and I thought I may regret it later. Low and behold , a 24hp 4wd hydrostat Kubota in need of repair for $1500 appears on CL a short time later, and I was all over it. I love to seek out the deals on CUTs this new economy brings. To really appreciate the price you paid for that Yanmar 1700, you needed to have been in the tractor market 5 years ago.
Your right about that one Ernie. I have seen all sorts of great deals on tractors on Craigslist. I even found a NewHolland TC26DA for $3000! It wasnt a scam, the tractor needs a new tranny case but i sure wish i had the $$$ because that would be one fun project. I cant imagine that swaping out tranny cases is easy though.:confused2:
