I remember going to the Anheuser Busch brewery in the very early 1950's even though I wasn't old enough to drink beer. I just liked going there to see how it was made. I went there often and since I couldn't sample the brew, they always gave me some advertising token such as a sign, horses and wagon, etc. I only wish that I still had those items. As a kid, we learned to entertain ourselves and going to the local factories was always fun. Back then, they were always ready to give kid tours of the plants. I also remember touring the Burry Cookie factory many times. Free milk and cookies were the order of the day. The cookie factory was located in the building where Star automobiles used to be made, so I was told. Those were the days when kids could go almost anywhere and not worry about being kidnapped. I even remember one time when I got lost and asked the policeman for directions to get home. He put me in the side car and drove me home because it was getting late in the day. It sure is a shame that the world had to grow up.. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
