I remember awhile back there was a way to tell what a pump or motor would supply by measuring something on the pump itself. I have a motor that I need to find out the specs on but the numbers on the motor don't come up anywhere. I was thinking I could identify it by looking at other brands and then cross referencing that way. I was told it was a hydraulic saw motor but don't know where else to look and I am out of options. It has a plate on the motor that is hard to read but I think it says PT NO 400391. Then there is another number which I think is the model number that reads, 303 9310 343. Then off to one side and to the top of the tag it has 045 stamped on the tag. I've looked for two days on the net and nothing like that pops up. I did find a 303 9310 399 but it does not look the same.

Thanks!

I don't recall the thread so I can't offer anything there...
If you could possibly identify the manufacturer of the original piece of equipment it may help with your "Part Number" (PT NO...)

good luck...

one method is to have a supply of oil feeding the inlet and then turning the motor or pump a given number of turns and measure the output. This will give you a pretty close estimate on displacement per revolution.

Well I know it is a parker.....at least that's what's on the plate but I've searched high and low on the net and that number comes up....number not found. The thing is, it doesn't look to be that old. I know it's hard to tell the age of something like this by the way it looks but it is really clean. As far as what it came off of, I don't know that. These guys worked on all sorts of heavy equipment for dirt moving and forestry machinery. One of the mechanics there said he thought it was the saw motor off of a trailer mounted delimber that caught fire in the woods. He said they had started parting the whole setup out and that the whole rig was there somewhere. He said they had removed the pump because someone wanted to buy it but never came to pick it up and it had been sitting on the shelf for a long time. I looked for the whole setup but everything was all strapped in pallet boxes and you couldn't tell what was what, you just bid on a box and you got what you got.
