Hey I\'m a farmer..well sort of

I went today to help a friend bring in some hay. This is the first time I ever used a real full sized tractor and implements. So here I am out on the road for the first time with a JD 3020 and load of hay. Funniest thing happened I see this guy stop his car and jump out( wearing a hawian "tourist" shirt), right away he's waving and going for his camera to catch a picture of an "authentic farmer" Jokes on him...he's got a picture of a cop from Brooklyn who's fanny never saw a tractor seat until a month ago. I can hear him saying to his relatives "look at this farmer I saw on the road" /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

No, just my standard issue JD hat.

Well it's back to the lil' tractor today! Have to get some concrete for my "new" ballast box. Then my friend and I have to go pickup his generator with my truck and unload it with the tractor(+- 450 lbs)

This tractor sure is making me popular! Actually most everyone I have helped are people who have given me a hand in the past and will in the future as well.

By the way the generator weighed 600lbs when packaged and palleted. The 790 took it off my truck real nice. I had the brushog rolling along the ground on the rear and 4 -80lb. bags on concrete resting on top of the hog just for extra balance since the load was high and hanging out the front of the bucket a little. Just chained it all tight so it would stay and it lifted real easy to where I needed it, about 3/4 height. I think this thing lifts more than the rating, it seemed like it could lift a decent ammount more no problem at all.

My friend who the gen. is for was pretty suprised he thought my little tractor was going to break. He wanted to slide it down some ramps by hand. It's 90+ degrees w/ 100% humidity that was NOT in my plans! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I guess the big bulky box did look a little large for the tractor.
