Hi All,
Just wanted to say a quick thanks to all who post on this site.
I have never owned a tractor or until last year more land than 1/5 of an acre! However I had long dreamed of owning a property with land in a very rural setting and bought a badly maintained property (both house and land!) of 30 acres located in the lovely Charente region of France, it is currently a wart but with the potential to be a diamond.
The acres comprise of approx 4.5 of 'grassland' with the remainder woodland and a 2 acre lake. Anyway I have come to realise that without a tractor (I am a bit slow!)it is going to be impossible to regain control, the property has been overgrown by brambles in many places which have to date been tackled with a strimmer! Initially I was at least able to regain control of about an acre around the house with strimmer and ride on mower but a visit by the local boar population put paid to coping with the ride on, they must have been big boars!
Anyway to cut a long story short the information you guys post has already been invaluable to me as I research compact tractors (currently looking at the JD 2032r and 3036e) and implements(still undecided as to what but a must have is rotary mower/bush hog or flail mower), so much so that I decided to become a member yesterday.
Expect you'll be hearing more from me, initially queries but ultimately some reviews of chosen equipment and perhaps some progress reports if anyone is interested.
The time some of you guys take to answer queries and the comprehensive content of many of the responses very impressive and very helpful so thanks again to all of you......
