I'm getting set to retire and I'm looking into a little tractor to finish off the property, maybe small garden and snow removal. a wack of really old stumps, so hoe is necessary. I'm on information overload right now and just found this forum, hopefully a lot of reading and some good advice will spur me on to a decision. Kioti was my winner but all were close, no dealer close for kioti and that could be a big factor, thanks

As for quality and price, I think LS tractors will be your best bet if you have a dealer in your area. I don't know how well they are spaced out in Canada.
Of course Kubota is always good also but will be higher. I love my B26 but unless you can find a good deal on a slightly used one like I did, they are outrageously price when new. A SCUT TLB might do what you are looking for like the BX series for Kubota. Just be aware of the HST cooling fan that is really low and exposed if operating in any light brush.
I use the B26 also to push out scrub brush and vines from the fence line on some wooded area adjoining our property (with owners permission of course). I am surprised by how big the logs are that I can move with the B26. I almost never use my 70 HP tractor any longer for piling limbs and trees.
I don't think you would go wrong with any brand except maybe the Chinese made ones. The quality is reportedly getting better but I still wouldn't trust them.

Also regarding backhoe requirement-- unless you have ongoing need for a backhoe, rental might be the way to go for stump removal. I put almost 400 hours on mine in 2 years but recently there is less and less need for it. Mostly now it is just removal of storm damaged trees and those could be chain sawed close to the ground almost as good as digging the roots out.

Thanks for the info guys, I thought about renting but the nearest place is a 120 mile round trip, plus i can't dedicate any long periods of time to this work, might me a few hours off and on then at something else for days. 3 acres seem small but its triangle shaped with a large stream bordering and smaller stream separating a knoll the on the far corner, thinking gazebo and bridge someday. I have access to a sand and gravel pit that i can use etc. I am now looking at a slightly larger machine having checked out an ls 3070 but was really impressed with a tym 293 with hoe that a fellow has worked for 4-5 years. 29 hp with mitsubishi engine, tough machine and priced right. I had ignored the korean machines but everything I read and see looks good.

Welcome.
I looked up the TYM you mentioned...nice looking machine with a little bigger stance than the smaller scut's. I think if you get that or a similar small cut size/frame machine of brands mentioned you will be happy. IMO if you want a BH get one as they are really handy and if you like to work your property it will save your back.

The first scut I bought i splurged on the BH like someone might on a small boat or cycle. Now I wouldn't be without it. It is nice to be able to use it on the spot when needed. Rather than renting sometimes convenience has its price and for me it was well worth it.

Enjoy your tractor shopping!

I Love my Kubota BX. It is a little Bull. I had about 3 acres before I moved and it did what I wanted. Always go one step bigger than you think you need and you will not be sorry. Buy once, cry once.

Hi and welcome. As others have mentioned. Several good brands out there. I am partial to Kubota. Don't be afraid of getting a used one. If it had any care at all it will be a reliable machine. I bought my BX at nine years old and 1100hrs on it three years ago. Now well over 1300 and it is a dynamo. Clears trees, rocks, snow and runs a 5ft tiller without a hiccup. Always seem to find a new use for it.

Do wish I had a backhoe. Would like to install a few hundred feet of drain pipe.
