How are you going to control the pump? Does it have a pressure switch or are you going to put switch on the tractor or the wand?

There is a toggle switch in the line from battery to pump and the pump has a high pressure cut off switch in the pump that works on demand ,so when the wand is closed the pump stops .When I get the boom built it will be controlled with the toggle switch.

I did one similar for my old JD mower - when you get into the boom thing, you may want to add some plumbing to allow your pump to run continuous and a tank return with valve and gauge to maintain constant pressure at the nozzles - all coverage charts I've seen use 10 lb. increments of nozzle pressure@ "X" mph to chart coverage - here's a couple pix of mine, ask if you need more info... Steve
BTW, I started to build a WET boom but when I got to the farm supply they had this DRY boom already set up for not much more than I would have had in mine, and this one actually WORKS

That looks great ,my pump is sized too small for that big a system. I bought it small for various reasons planning to only run 3 nozzles ,to keep it simple and to not have a very big quantity of chemical at any one time anticipating spaying out a full tank any time I would mix spray.

Yeah, the original pump on my spot sprayer was only 1.7 gpm - apparently the second season of Roundup I didn't rinse it long enough and it was froze up the next year - I was already working on the next version, so when I had to replace the pump I found a 3.8 gpm, which is big enough to run 7 of the finer spray nozzles or 5 of the slightly bigger ones.
Another advantage of the bigger pump and recirc setup - when mixing, if you add water to Roundup or Crossbow it foams up a lot - so I fill up with water, open the pressure setting valve all the way, let the pump run in recirc while I add the chemicals. Also, if your pasture is really smooth (mine's NOT) the partial recirc needed to maintain 30 psi at the nozzles helps keep things mixed up... Steve

That is exactly what I did but it doesn't work as expected. If there is even very small leak (just one drop/sec) the pump will cycle every few second. I am thinking about adding "pressure vessel" downstream of the wand shut off valve or put switch on the wand trigger. By pressure vessel I mean just a piece of 2-3" ID 10" long PVC stand pipe plumbed to a T in wand line.

I have used it for two tanks full first one I put out with the wand ,which seems two have killed well then one with the boom attachment I made it is only 3 nozzles on 20 inch centres seems good but may go back to the 11002 nozzle I originally tried rather than the 8002 that I used .My hardest part of the job was finding any suppier with decent stock of 1/4 in nylon or plastic pipe fittings .
