My sx3100 has developed a leak in the high pressure metal line. Anytime I move the joystick it squirts out. I ordered a new line and it showed up today. I think I’ll just take the Tractor to my local dealer (non yanmar) as my closest yanmar dealer it 2.5 hours away. It appears the rear tire needs to be removed to access the line and my tires are filled. With just myself I think the tire would be to heavy to mess with. Anyone else have this happen yet? My tractor has been kept in my garage it’s whole life too.

I've seen that a lot on heavy trucks that are used for spreading salt. Those **** clamps hold the moisture in as well as bits of dirt and it eventually wears or rusts away. You want to see a good example of what happens, look underneath your car or truck where the brakes lines come down the firewall and turn toward the rear. there's usually four or more tubes there together in a cradle that 'protects' them.. I don't believe in that case it's abrasion but rust and corrosion. That's the first place I load up with Fluid Film or Krown..............Mike

Well the dealer called me once they took the tire off and had a look. They are estimating it will be a 6-8 hour job!! They said a lot has to be removed to get full access to it. At $80 an hour it’s not gonna be cheap. Does anyone know if it’s really that big of a job? I have had a few dealings with this dealer before and always felt I was treated fair. I even got a great deal on my 3 point snowblower from them.

I'm never scared of the heavy tire issue, everything else you talked about I'm not knowledgeable on. The way I take/replace filled or heavy tires is to just loosen lug nuts but not all the way. Jack vehicle till tires are still on ground but studs are not holding weight. This can take some patients if your jack is touchy. Then just remove nuts and "walk" the tire and rim off. Just do the reverse to put it back on. Just make sure you have a place cleared to roll and tip the tire while you work on tractor. I had to unload a filled tire from my truck. I backed the truck up to FEL and loaded tire, lowered FEL and then rolled tire to back of tractor(yes the one I used FEL). I'm sure OSHA would have some issues but I was careful, and my wife wasn't near. She's worse than an OSHA inspector sometimes. If the tire fell I would have be SOL but luckily everything worked out. And the wife was non the wiser.

Well it ended up costing just over $600. That included all new fluid. Considering this is the 1st thing to ever go wrong with this Tractor I can’t complain to much.
