Question to anyone with a 2720 JD compact tractor.
Just a quick check into a problem that I am having for the second time with my JD 2720 high pressure line blowing out at the final bend where it enters the control system for the joy stick as I call it. Machine has 341 hours on it now, and yesterday it happened all over again like a bad dream. This happened when the tractor was brand new with less than 25 or so hours on it, now here we are again with the same problem. It seems this "pipe" as it's called in the parts catalog, was made by rolling a piece of flat steel, and welding it . then ends are attached and the bending is done to fit the machine. The leak is once again in the weld seam, and I am having trouble with my dealer on a replacement. The 4 or so foot pipe/line cost at the dealer over $448.00 and for the life of me I do not see where a piece of 3/8 steel tubing can cost that much money!! Can anyone here help me out on this?? is this more common than I think? and shouldn't this be a recall? HELLLLLLLPPPP!!! The last time , under warrantee, they made me ship the defected line back to them before they would send out a new one, so they could prove this was a factory defect. seems we are going down that same road again except my machine drive train warrantee ran out last month. Still, with only 341 hours, this in a new tractor. ...... Thanks for any advice in advance!!
