His brother must live up here. I went to buy a dirt bike and talked the guy down to $ 3,400 for a $ 5,000 bike. I had already said yes ( to myself in my head) and was looking at it thinking I,d make some minor modifications, then ,out of the blue, he says - alright $ 3,000. uh.... ok.

A friend of mine had an old VW bug for sale at "$350 or best offer". Some kid showed up and said "would you take $400?" My friend was so floored he was speechless. The kid then said " how about $450?" Again my friend is speechless. The kid again..."$500 is as high as I can go." My friend finally gets his wits about him again and says "SOLD!"

My father was quite the "horse trader". He'd buy and sell about anything. (as long as PROFIT was involved.... That's where his only son changed the program /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif)

He taught me one (of many) valuable lessons. When he was selling something, and wasn't getting any offers, he would RAISE the price. Almost instantly, he'd start getting bites. Never ceased to amaze me.....
