I'd like to hear from any NH owners who after buying their dream tractor they decided to either go up in hp or in my case go to a cab. I have a TN75 and would like to go to a 75D. Anyone had their tractor say less than a year and made the switch. How big of a hit did you take and was it worth it now or wait until you have more equity in your tractor. Any opinions or suggestions would be appreciated.

Motorjock, I went from a utility tractor to the TC35 on the advise of my dealer and its a great little tractor but too light for alot of farm work. My efforts to trade it back have been futile. I am going to get another tractor but dont know yet what to do with the compact-I own the compact outright but dont want to lose a bunch of money for no reason........Lloyd

I bought a TC21D and found it to be way unstable for mowing on my side hills. I should have really bought a sub-compact which would have given me stablility but could not find a Kubota Dealer close that I liked. John Deere was way to expensive for me.

Anyway after having the TC21D for a year I went back and traded up to the TC29D. I ended up paying about 4 g's to boot. The dealer claims he gave me everything back on my 21 which was pretty close the original price I had the prior year for the 29. From what I could see I paid 500 more than I would have in the first place. I feel pretty good about that I guess. I also checked his competitors and he was $1500 less.

Gee . . . sure wish I had a TN!

The longer you wait, the bigger the hit (unless, of course, you expect it to become a collectors item in the near future). The amount of "hit" you take is irrelevant to the amount of your "equity." Whether you own it outright, or, share ownership with the bank its worth what its worth. You've already taken whatever "hit" you are going to take, it's just when you make the accounting entry to recognize it. The "hit" you take in trading is not on the old one (which, I repeat, you've already taken), but on the NEW one. If you're going to do it, do it as soon as you can. Any reason you can't add a decent after-market cab to the TN?

I sometimes think about trading to the TN - a VERY nice tractor. In fact seriously considered one before buying what I did - the extra $7k just made me gag, hate writing checks for that kind of money. On the other hand, my little TC40 is just big enough to do serious stuff, can sneak into really tight places and is easy to tow even with the BH on it.
