Yesterday I hit the 2,000 hours on my 422 which I purchased new 14 1/2 years ago with no major problems. Put a new battery in it this year and also 2 new tires, old ones had lots of tread left but they were starting to crack and lose air , so rather than put tubes in I just purchased new tires. It still runs like new and does not use any oil. Subaru 22 hp engine has been very good and dependable.

That's awesome!

That is a good milestone. I am at 2012 on my Kubota L2900, but unlike you I bought mine with 1972 on it a few months ago. I asked the mechanic at my local Kubota dealer if it should be good for 2000 more and he said "easily".
I am sure you have taken good care of your machine and it will take care of you for many more hours.

That's good to hear. 1 battery and 2 tires in 14.5 years is pretty darn good.

Ernemats, congrats. Did you ever change the ten gallons of hydraulic oil, or is that still original?

Still the original hydraulic oil. I have thought about changing to synthetic , but then I look at the price to do it.

Congratulations! I figure it is the equivalent of hitting 100,000 miles on a car. Do you have any secrets of success for the rest of us?

Yes, its not cheap, $20/gal at Walmart, a little less if you find a sale.

You might want to consider changing the oil; hydraulic systems are largely oil shearing systems. Both the pumps and the motors constantly shear the oil. For $25 dollars or so you can get a quick oil analysis and find out if your 10W40 is still at least 10W.

All the best,

Peter
