Hit a bear, what about the bumper?

Absolutely, I feel having a full-sized truck likely saved me from significant injury. This bear was not huge, I estimate 150-200 pounds at the most, but it was an adult as best I could tell. It also bounced off the bumper area rather than flipping onto the hood. Of course, it is all speculation, but I would say with a small car, the front end would have significantly compressed or worse, the bear would have launched into the windshield. That would have caused some damage and likely injury. Every time I think that I could maybe save a buck getting a cheap small car to run my work route and park my truck, I think of how comfortable it is, how it gets reasonable mileage, the power it has and the safety of having a substantial vehicle around me, those thoughts ebb away.
