Kubota BX 2230
When pulling my manure spreader, the control levers often make serious contact with the 2230's lift arms (in up or down positions). Are they any pre-fab extensions out there that will give me more space between the hole in the back of the tractor and the hole in the tongue of the spreader? It's particularly bad when the spreader is on higher ground than the tractor.

Thanks.

Some draw bars have multiple holes where they pin to the tractor, does the BX?

Jam,

I had the same problem with my sprayer. What I did was buy a draw bar. It connects to the 3 point.

See this e-bay picture

web page for what they look like. Just make sure the holes for your spreader will fit the bar, it is about 3/4" thick. The draw bar was about $15 at the local farm store dealer.

Here's how I solved the problem of the fixed drawbar on my BX. Just get a 2" hitch that has the reach and lift that you need. I unbolted the original drawbar plate and used it as a template to make the holes for the new one. Disregard the marking that I added to the pic for someone else.

Tom,

I went to a place in Hightstown today and saw the draw bar you've referred to. Does that attach to the lift arms? Do you have to keep the deck in the low position to connect the draw bar? I like to keep the deck on in the up position. I think that means the lift arms are also in the up position.

Milk,

Do you use the bolt from the the original drawbar plate to reattach the 2" hitch? Do you have any problems with the rear implement being more unstable than normal due to the extension?

You can see how mine is attached over the original hitch.

Jam,

What I do is lock the MMM in the top position. Then the draw bar can be at what ever height you want. The ends of the bar go through the balls on each side of the hitch. A pin holds the draw bar to the hitch. The draw bar will rotate. It is not a problem with my spray because the connection on the sprayer is a "C" with a pin in the center. I connect the sprayer to the draw bar, add the pin and away I go. If you need a picture let me know.

In Kevin picture above the red bar is the draw bar and the orange part prevents the draw bar from turning. Not sure where you can get that part, you do see them on e-bay.

here is an example web page

Here is cheaper way to prevent the bar from turing.
