True Story:
I worked with a woman whose car was COMPLETELY filled with crap. I mean paper, magazines, coat hangers, boxes. Every square inch. There was a person shape hole in the drivers seat that you could wedge a person in to. It was abaove the rear window! I can't even do it justice describing it. The car (a late 90's lumina?) squatted to the ground.

I am certain her house is the same. Very very odd. I am exactly the opposite. I throw out too much, I sell anything I no longer use to free up funds for things I need. My house looks like we just moved in because it is kind of sparse with no nick nacks.

I have a friend that has this same condition. Joy throws nothing out including empty milk cartons so you can imagine what her home looks like. She came to our home this past Christmas for dinner. She brought several vegetable samplers with dip contained in Styrofoam containers. We served the vegetables and dip on serving plates and discarded the Styrofoam. When Joy was ready to leave she asked for her Styrofoam containers back and was insulted that we had pitched them in the trash. We were all taken back at the behavior. Reading the story above puts it in a new perspective. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Some medication would probably help these poor people, some compulsive people also have certain rituals they have to go through on a simple daily task and some of the compulsive people have to check and re check themselves because it is difficult to obtain certainty on things.
A chemical imbalance of the brain.

I am sure most everyone has seen the series Monk. This is an example of an Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. There are certain things that he feels that he must do even though they look really weird to the majority. Or do they? /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Im guilty dang it lol I hoard hydraulics lol gearboxes and usable steel. My land behind the shop looks like junkyard wars. I do save severl magazines like select Rock and Dirt, Construction Equipment. and Farmshow. I go through them and cut out articles for some things then file them. I try not to over do it I couldnt live in a piled up house though. I know and old fella that piles news papers and magazines on his house floor to keep from vacuuming. He has a stack of cereal boxes6feet high in the living room. The last house he rented was like that and the pares had mildewed as he wet them with a hose to prevent loss to a fire. The renter had called me because he had filled an empty rent house the same way. While he was gone to California she hired 2 guys to clean the 1200 square foot house out. It weas stacked top to bottom room to room . I dug a 24 by 12 hole 10 feet deep and we lit it after halfway filling it and before the day was done I had to dig more. one time last year his shed caught fire best anyone figures he had wet the paers down to prevent fires and it went through a heat and spontaineously combusted.
What really pi$$ed me off was he called the healy departmen on fe for having alot of truck tires around the shop. all mounted no standing water. Then he complained to the city i was out of ordinance with 5 trucks with no tags on them and junk around my shop. Which Im out of city limits but they had to check. While they were out there I sold a bushog and a grader blade. Several months ago a lady came by the shop one evening to get me to make some metal side bords for her truck. She worked for the social services and they had a lady that was raising her kids in a piled up place and offered to clean it up to help her keep her kids as treatment. 3 months later it was twice as bad and fleas had taken over. It was terrible to see kids put through this.
