Homade landscape rake attached to back blade?

Looking through links to landscape rakes and was thinking about attaching the rake to the rear blade. Hinge the steel that the rake teeth are attached so that it can be lifted upward and held so that the blade would be useable. Remove the pins, lower the rake teeth and pin and the rake would be ready to go. Rake could be adjusted same as the blade is. Draw backs, ideas for a heavy duty hinge and pins, has anyone done this?

Sounds possible. Might not get that much "rake" from the loss of height.

FYI, I have 5' landpride blade, and looked into buying the rake to swap out the blade with. It's almost $100 lower than the price of buying a new rake as a second implement. I'd go for the new rake in a minute.

Of course, if I had a welder, I might play with building one.

I have a rake that is just like that, it is a York RI ( I think )

There are pictures of it here 1947 Ford 2N

I have yet to try it since I only got it last weekend, but I think it is exactly what you describe.
