They just about give away the combo kits. So I suspect they make their money, or intend too, on batteries. So what is Ridgids plan, if they have lifetime warranty, including batteries? Maybe, that people won't register? Or bother to go to a depot for warranty.

I've had a couple of Ryobi batteries die within the 3 years. HD gives you an 800# to call for battery claims. I guess that goes to the overlord company that makes or distributes several of the brands .... Gardner something. It's basically a no hassle process as long as you have the HD order number they can look up. Somehow they can match the serial number of the battery to that order number. If they do, they ship out a new battery no questions asked. No warranty registration involved.

I have to say. I suspect them of poor quality but that Ryobi lineup of tools is enviable. I wish Rigid would expand their 18 volt line up a little.

was looking for a cheap 1/4 impact driver just to keep at the house without going to the shop for my other impact driver.
Looking on line, I find HD had a Ryobi driver for 49.00 with battery and charger.

I checked local stores and none carry this mod. they tell me this is an on line purchase item only !
They have other models in store for more $$ but I only need a cheap one.

So, I go on line and order, I'm only charged 7% tax instead of 10% as 7% is the tax in my county. Total came to $52.43 including 2 day shipping.

I had an email that there were some Black Friday deals release from Home Depot on Monday. I thought that there battery deal was good so I picked it up. 2 dewalt 4 amp batteries and 2 2 amp batteries for $159. That was by far the cheapest price I’ve seen the xr 20v max batteries and I was looking to grab a couple. Actually I went into lowes last night bc I had a $10 off coupon and was going to get the 2 4ah batteries for $119 but they were sold out.
