What is your go to for home security cameras? My Arlos are getting old and I think I want to add another option or replace altogether.

My Arlo depends on me remembering to change batteries, AND wifi to be on.

Are there options that use Solar charged batteries, and have Cellular backup when wifi is not available?

You apparently haven't camera shopped in awhile. Solar charging is an option for many cameras as is battery life measured in months. They connect to your wi-fi router but can be programmed to notify your cell phone if an intruder is detected. You can even view and program them via the phone.

I'm still using the old school Lorex wired BNC Cameras with DVR. Still works fine

I have three Arlo cameras that connect to a hub, which is on my Wifi. On motion the cameras record a 10 second video and send to me.
My issues are these:
(1) I do not change the batteries often enough. I have rechargeable and an extra set but I am lazy
I am sure there is a solar option but I need to know which cameras will allow me to use that option
(2) What if power goes out? Then I lose WIFI and intruder is free to roam
(3) what if power stays on but WIFI goes out. The the intruder is free to roam

I installed a set of Arlo Pro 4 cameras a couple of months ago. Connected to wifi and my phone. I can look at them and arm or disarm them anywhere I am with my phone. I installed solar chargers with them so I don't have to worry about them staying charged. Got a set of 3 cameras kits and 1 solar charger from Sam's Club and 2 more chargers from Amazom. i did make a mount for 2 chargers side by side. Used a piece of 1x4 and 3/8" black pipe fittings.

Great. I will look into the Pro 4. Mine are older and I don't think have a solar option
