Homemade truck center counsel

Has anyone ever built a center counsel for their trucks or cars? Have a ranger and hate the stupid small plastic ones in it. Mine has bucket seats so I plan on building a full center counsel and wanting ideas.

I had one of their steel security consoles in a Wrangler I had years ago and loved it. Now I use their products in my Dodge Ram.

If you have a decent router and some skill - you can make a ergo one with some MDF.

Had an old bench seat Bronco I put the bucket seats from a Volvo in. I made a center console from wood and covered the top using the arm rest from the rear seat of the same car to have it match.

Years back when I had one that broke in my Ranger, I visited the junk yard and he said they all break. We can get you an aftermarket for... I made one that was more suited to my needs. What I did is make more of a hinged desk top with a back to keep the organizer bottom in place and my clip board type carryall from sliding around. I used mine for more of a desk than anything. The shoe box sized organizer just fit underneath and came in periodically for cleaning and restocking supplies. The lid just tipped out of the way- pivoted on the same brackets the old console did.

Only wood working tools I have is a sawzaw and skil saw but will do what I can. Was thinking of using bedliner for the sides and some sort of plastic for most of the top besides arm rest
