Re: homier \'farm-pro\'???

No expert on Chinese tractors, and I could only indentify a couple of brands. It could possibly be a 200 series Jinma. A picture is worth more than a 1000 words, in this case. Also, info from the engine tag should help. I assume you found some chinese writing on it to indicate its origin. The Chinese Tractors Owners Assoc (CTOA) board should be able to help: http://worldcrossing.com/WebX?.eec20e0

Re: homier \'farm-pro\'???

Might have been sold through Chuck Homier Tools. They import most of their tools from China. Go here if you want to call them and ask.

I thought the jinma 20hp tractors were 4wd? But the canopy and hood sound right.

Re: homier \'farm-pro\'???

The 4 wheel drives are the most popular, and is what is offered by most dealers. According to what I've read, all JM models can come in 2 wheel or 4 wheel drive. Only have seen the 2 wheel drives, on the net, myself.

Re: homier \'farm-pro\'???

By coincidence, Homier Tools came to town with their traveling sale today. I stopped in and asked if they were selling "Farm-Pro" tractors and was told that yes, they had just started but not every dealer was set up yet. This dealer had just returned from a meeting where they demonstrated the tractor and was surprised that I knew about it already. The down side is he didn't know who made it, when asked if they where Chinese Jinmas he replied "yeah, like Yanmars". He also said that they will carry FEL, BH and some implements.

They will carry 2 models - 20 hp 2wd priced under $4500 and 25 hp 4wd priced under $6000. He suggested calling Homier for additional details.

Re: homier \'farm-pro\'???

Its amazing how many times I hear about some Chinese tractor dealer imply or say they are the same as yanmar! Either they are totally ignorant and only repeat what they have been told, or its very close to outright fraud. Others will say things like Asian built. This is better than relating to Yanmar, but still can be misleading. I think many dealers feel that the Chinese have such a bad rap, they don't want to risk disclosing it, such that the person won't even come on the lot.

If they are just getting into selling Chinese tractors, and from the appearance of what they already sell, there is a good likelyhood that the tractors are Jinma. A picture will clear that right up. Koyker and GreatBend FELs fit the Jinma. I don't suspect ther would be mounting issues because it is a two wheel drive.

Re: homier \'farm-pro\'???

found out it is a tractor previously sold by homier, now sold by northern tool. they ARE $4500--------- if you want to assemble! (nightmare i imagine) around $6000 assembled, plus delivery $500-600. 4wd was something like 1000 more i'ts a pretty decent little tractor, but as the old saying goes--you get what you pay for!!
i'll just keep using my kubota or my ole 8N

Re: homier \'farm-pro\'???

Assembly is really no bid deal,If you can assemble a 10 speed bike you can proubally handel the tractor assembly,You need to bolt on the fenders, rollbar, tires, plug in the harness, secure the tank, hood and a few other idems,It would proubally take a novist 5-6 hours, start to finish all the nuts and bolts are provided,Dont knock them till you try they,No it isnt Kubota but it will out run the 8n hands down, power steering, live hydralics and pto,Diesel engine, and 4x4,parts availability is not a proublem on theise units.their are many parts sources in the states, happy tractoring !!!!

Re: homier \'farm-pro\'???

I recently saw an ad for a 4 day special sale put on by Homier Premier Mobile Merchants at the National Guard Armory in Ocala, Florida. They offered many tools and other items for sale at what looked like great prices.
A couple of the items offered for sale were tractors, a 20 hp and a 25 hp, both diesel. The 20 hp had the following: 2wd, 2cyl., water cooled 4 stroke diesel engine, 540 and 720 RPM PTO, 3 point category 0 hitch, canopy, oil pressure and fuel gauges, hour meter and amp meter, 6 month parts and labor warranty, ag. tires. this unit was $2999.00. The 25 hp added 4wd, 2 stage clutch, power steering, 3 point category 1 hitch, price advertised was $5999.00. Ad didn't say anything about whether it was assembled or not.
I hope this helps you. They did have a web site, but I couldn't access it. www.Homier.com

Re: homier \'farm-pro\'???

I went to see them. They were assembled jinmas. The small 2999.00 units had already been changed over to cat1.

They don't bring them to the sales up here in Ohio.
I wanted a look.

Re: homier \'farm-pro\'???

I'm glad I got to see them...even test drove them.

All in all... not a bad little unit. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one, as long as I know i can get parts.... that would be the only concern.
As for fit/finish, was not as nice as the big 3.. but as good as the old vintage tractors I'm so fond of.

Re: homier \'farm-pro\'???

They did come to Ohio.........They had a display at the power show in Columbus on Jan 24, 25, and 26th. They looked like an inexpensive tractor compared to many of the other brands represented there.....The fit and finish are just not quite there yet!!........

Re: homier \'farm-pro\'???

i found out the hard way, after paying way too much at auction. but the farm-pros are a cheap cheap version of the jinmas. i used the heck out of it, and after being around it a while, and selling it, i'm now a jinma dealer. farm pros had no power steering, (but apparently now they do??) quick connect hydraulics, and as cheap as they can be ordered.
the warranty is only 6 months, where ours is 1 year. my concern would be the 'labor' warranty? what, take it to homier in indiana for warranty labor repairs? we have service facilities and techs. as far as parts, bolton equipment, deljen equipment, several larger dealers can overnite or UPS parts quickly. deljen is getting the new site up -- www.jinmaparts.com to order parts online

Re: homier \'farm-pro\'???

The Homier travelling tool show came to Paducah, KY this weekend and they advertised their tractors. I went to the show yesterday and they had a 20 hp 2wd. This was my first good look at any chinese tractor and I liked what I saw. It looked like a very serviceable tractor (stuff easy to get to) and fairly intuitive to operate, much like the vintage American tractors. For $3000, it would be a toss-up for me between going with the N-series Fords or the Jinma. Jinma is a bit more modern, with a diesel engine, but the N has the advantage of practically any part from NAPA or other local source. If I were looking for another small tractor, I would definatley consider a Chinese tractor, but I would probably rather pay a little more and buy it from an actual Chinese Tractor Dealer than a travelling tool show (who knows how long Homier will support you with parts/advice?)
