Ok guys I am dumb as a brick on quickhitchs, as a matter of fact I have never even seen one in person. My question is this, is Pats system that much better than the one Homier is selling for half the price? They look totally different and to be quite honest I am looking for the easiest system to use as I am in a wheelchair and getting on and off the tractor is a real pain. Can someone tell me the difference and which one would be easier to use. I currently have a 6ft finish mower and scraper blade, however I am gettting real serious about a box blade in the near future. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Maker102,
Given the information that you have presented, I would suggest that you look in to a Jiffy Hitch or a Freedom Hitch. With either one of these brands, you don't have to get off the tractor unless the PTO is needed. The only problem with these hitches is that they are more costly than the ones that you have mentioned.

Pat's requires some fiddling, as you still need to attach the top link.

Homier stuff is kinda junk....... IMHO But that style is less fuss _IF_ all your implements have the exact same dimensions between the bottom pins & the top link to bottom pins dimension & they don't have a frame member too close....

It will cost more, but some of the newer designs are traingular shaped, and you weld/ bolt a triangle on each implement, and use the triangular quick hitch. A real snap to hook up, no fussing. Again, you need to modify each implement so not a cheap option, but a good one.

The Homier Quickhitch may not be I-Match compatible....LOL

I totally agree with Jerry. Freedom or Jiffy. I think the Delta(?) hitch is a very similar concept. Basically they have 2 parts. One part in on the back of the tractor, the other part is mounted on the implement. You back up the tractor to the implement, raise the 3pt and drive away. PTO shaft driven implements must have the shaft manually connected no matter which system is used.

I own a Pat's system, but for you I'd not recommend it as you have to manually attach the top link each time. I use a Post Hole Digger and some of my implements are not I-Match compatible for a typical quick hitch, so Pat's was my best option and I really like it, but it is not ideal for your circumstances.

Before buying a quick hitch you need to make sure all your implements will fit it. Many do not. Especially older ones and many brands of mower decks. The 2 part systems mentioned by Jerry will work with any tractor and any implement.

I knew I was missing something that was out there!!! Thanks for the advise, I will be going with Jiffy, Delta or Freedom althought I am not sure which. Can anyone tell me where to pick them up at the hopefully cheapest price. I am not sure if you know it but everything I buy I end up paying double and a few dollars saved sure goes a long way. Thanks for the great advise.

For whats it's worth....

I have a SPeeCo Cat I quick hitch on my Cub. It looks identical to the TSC and Homier models. I have been using it on my landscape rake and my KK box blade. Neither attachment fits the quick hitch without fussing, lifting and leaving the seat. I had to torch off some material on the box blade to get it hooked up. Bottom line is as others have said, most attatchments don't fit the hitch without work.

Maker. . . do a Google search for the hitches

Ray . . . there are "standards" for quick hitch compatibility, unfortunately many manufacturers follow their own standards.

Maker102, I bought a Homier Quick Hitch and it is very durable. I hook it up to all oif my implements but, it does take some adjusting the top hook of the hitch. I bought some quick pins and just adjust them as I need. But as far as picking up the attachments on uneven ground it is a back saver. It is rated at 1000lb. lift capacity. Good Luck

Back in the mid sixties (Boy I'm getting old) I lived and worked in Lake Arthur for about a year. Some fine cajun folks down there for sure.

I don't remember a lot but I do remember an establishment called the Red Rose Lounge where I consumed a few adult beverages /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif and the man I worked for named Alan Meche. He would probably be retired or (I hope not) deceased by now. I believe he had a couple of small children back then but I don't remember their names. Like I said I'm getting old.

Alan, like everyone I met down there was a super nice guy.
