Homier road show is coming to my neck of the woods this weekend. Is it all junk? I know you get what you pay for, but it should be fun looking for a bargain. Any advice?

Most of it is junk.. tractor might be their though. i remember a couple years ago when their economy... 20hp 2wd no power steering unit was 2900 bucks.. what a steal that was.. couldn't buy a big lawnmower for that.

Keep your eyes open.. there are a few 'deals'.. most deals for the seller...but not totaly.

like stated above: some stuff is junk, if you only need to use it one or two times a year it is fine. by all means inspect it carefully and try it out as best you can right away and if possable try it at the store setup.! they have no qualms about returns, if you don't like it take it back!

I've bought several items usually satisfied by the fact that they cost lots less and will do the job. also took a few things back, one being the 3pt quick attach , (which worked but was not worth the effort as only 2 of my 3pt items are close enough to size to fit with out adjustment. so it wasn't worth it and I took it back.) not a problem gave me cash on my credit card purchace so I had free $ for 30 days even!

anyhow the tracotrs are good items better know as JINMAS which is what I ahve, I bought mine as a crate and put it together myself. theirs comes assembled for only a bit more than what I paid! but be sure to go over them with a fine tooth comb for loose bolts, pay attension to a few iterms like the hydraulic blocks on the 3pt mounting (uner the seat) and the HYD pump mounting as well as the injector pump oil level. the wheel mouning bolts is a big one for being loose too. if you need other advice on them be sure to ask, myself JOHNS or others will surely respond. mines is going on 2 fullyears old and still cranks with out fail even the china battery! (which most say is junk is still going strong!) I think the reason most say it is junk is they didn't charge it right to begin with you have to start the charge on a high amp charger for the batery to SET and hold it's charge then switch to lower setting after a certain time.

started mine on 200 amps, untill acid was boiling (about 15 min, then switched to 50 amps for the next 2 hrs) and finally a trickel charge down to the 24 hr mark. this is required or else the battery won't hold up for very long, not to mention you neeed some type of rubber isulating mat under it or else the heavy viberation can BREAK the lead inside and it will be shot.

I recently purchased one of their small metal lathes, the 7x12, based upon reports on the mini-lathe.com website. The thing is great, but you must disassemble it and clean all the shipping grease off of it, then relube, adjust and align everything. Looking at getting the milling machine the end of the month when they come to Richmond. Checked out the other stuff, some junk but cheap. I was told to watch out for the name brand stuff as its factory returns. They stand behind the warranty, but you have to either wait for them to return to your area or send it to them.

I couldn't pass up a sawzall for 20$. Like stated above, I've only used it a couple times. But it hasn't had a problem. I also bought a couple of air hose reels. The weld broke on one of the handles and I had to tack it back on.... 10$. Just don't have any high expectations.

I was looking for some chain. I see they are selling 5/16"x14', grade 43 chain for $10. Not bad. I was also looking for a "carry all", any one know what brand they sell? I think it may be Farm Pro.

yea i bought 6 of those chains i would have bought more if they hadnt run out, i wouldnt recomend using them for real heavy work, but i sure like them for chaining down medium weight loads on my truck and trailer, cant buy a good tie down strap for 10 bucks, and if one gets stolen from the bed of my truck while parked at the bar i aint gona cry like i would if my grade 70 transport chain was stolen! but i wouldnt go using them to hold down a huge tractor or anything, but for smalled loads they are great, and nice to carry in the cab of the tractor, or to loan to friends since ya might never see them again! lol

ahhh so you're one of them guys who gets there very early on opening day and buys all that chain huh!? /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif I figured every time I tried to get some chain it was sold out! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

oh well last time I was gonna buy one of those 9.99 sawsalls but ended up passing it up when the check out line was about 30 people long and I was cold & hungry! lol. figured I didn't actually HAVE to have it anyway just though it may come in handy if need be...

I have from time to time taken advantage of Homier sales. A few of their tools are the very same that Harbor Freight offers. The last purchase I made was a blow-molded creeper to get under my TC-40D. It was 10 bucks cheaper than Harbor Freight and has never let me down yet. (pun)

I like to go merely because I'm a man and tools and machinery have always fascinated me since I was a kid. Now I'm a big kid. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
