HONDA HARMONY RIDE ON MOWER

Hi, Does anyone out there know how to remove the steering wheel on the above unit?? I have tried to remove it from the shaft so as to remove the vehicle body without success! I then noted a split pin in the cog at the bottom of the steering column, but did not like to remove it as it is rather inaccessible and did not want to do so unless it is absolutely necessary!! If that is required to be done that means withdrawing the steering wheel and entire steering shaft. Can some one advise, please

There should be a plastic center cover that comes off the steering wheel. There would then be a nut that you have to remove to pull off the steering wheel.
