front wheel drive honda santa fe 2007
front wheel drive honda santa fe 2003
16' bumper pull 3k double axle trailer w. electric brakes, i think it weights 2000lbs
the 2007 from specs is slightly heavier, and seems a bit more robust vs the 2003 vehicle. so 2007 more likely be setup for towing.
curt hitch class 3, 3500lbs grow trailer weight, 525lbs tongue weight
Hidden Hitch Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" Hidden Hitch Trailer Hitch 87414
=============
the sante fe is kinda funky to me, the 4pin trailer adapter, the end and a couple feet of wire gets coiled up and stored inside the vehicle, and when a trailer is needed, ya open up rear, pull wire out, and then close the rear door over the trailer wire.
need to figure out if it has tow package harness on it or not...

unsure what brake controller to get (any suggestions?)

nothing fancy, most likely be timed delayed. will not be a everyday thing, but half dozen times a year if that out on the road. mostly used here on farm.
need to figure out what 7 blade adapter i want. perhaps see if wires will fold/ coil up inside the vehicle, along with the 4 pin wires when not needed.

was going to pickup a weight distribution hitch... being front wheel drive vehicle... and knowing the farm. and stupid stuff i might end up doing, before i realized i did it. was thinking it would be rather nice to have front wheels touching the ground getting traction vs removing a good amount of weight off of the front tires. (teter totter effect)
any suggestions on what to get?

need something i can easily undo, when going down into pasture with trailer, the hill going into it, has a sudden 45 degree down, and then at bottom of hill it goes back up about 45 degrees ((the path way goes through overflow grassy area, in case main pipe overflow on lake some how gets clogged))
==================
i was going to see about getting a old used full size truck, but this is what i have to work with. for the next few years. no major plans that would require to haul something heavy, but, trailer is nice to have around to go pickup some lumber, deal with tree branches, etc...
