Honda Tracked Snowblower

   / Honda Tracked Snowblower #21
I bought a Honda 928 last winter when we (Lakes Region, NH) got a big storm with lots of drifting. I plow my 400 ft driveway with my ATV and it worked very good except for this one storm where the snow drifted up between the windrows from all the previous storms. Nowhere to "push" with the 4 wheeler.
I got the Honda home and put it right to work and it is really a beast that eats anything in it's path as long as you control the speed. I also have a little Ariens 5-22 for small paths and my deck. I feel I'm prepared for any storm conditions between the 4 snow moving machines...Ariens and Honda blowers, Polaris 800 ATV and BX25D!

A big yes vote on the Honda tracked blower...I clear a path across my lawn with the Honda snow blower and it's a fairly, steep hill. I use the path to run back and forth to my wood piles all winter to bring wood up to the house and when I'm clearing uphill, I can actually ski in my workboots by locking my legs behind the Honda as she pulls up the hill, undeterred by the snow. Get one and never look back!

While I don't have a Honda track snow blower I have had several other wheeled snow blowers over the years. Right now I have a 10HP Ariens (I think it's a Tecumseh). Most of my snow blowing is done with my Kubota. All the Ariens does is from the woodshed to the cellar door and is only ran 2 or 3 times a year. If it did more I would own a Honda. If for no other reason than the engine. Honda makes a great engine. Whether it's my generator with a GX (commercial) on it that starts in the dead of winter when the power goes out or the log splitter with the GCV (home owner) that sits most of the year until the annual fall firewood splitting. Even my old 80s Honda 3 wheeled ATC that sat for 5 years just needed fresh gas to fire right up. When the Ariens engine dies, and it will, it's going to get a Honda engine replacement. When my old Stihl weedwacker died (it was old and I didn't like having to breath 2 stroke fumes) I bought a Honda. What a difference. The 4 stroke is quiet and smooth. Every spring I take it out of hibernation and she fires right up.

I was a big fan of Briggs. From the good old 5hp engine on my gocarts I could keep running for what seamed like forever to several riding mowers. But it seamed like Honda changed the market. Now almost everything is a copy of the GX. Even China copies the Honda. Seams to me you only copy the most proven design.
