As is common the this model, my hood broke near the hinges. Anyone have any recomendations for what type glue might work to glue the edges back together?

After I get the piece glued back together, I plan on reinforcing it with some aluminum, epoxii and pop rivets.

Thanks for any help,
Howard

I'd be thinking of fiberglass cloth and epoxy to repair it. Rough up the plastic for the epoxy to stick.

Thanks for the reply and the welcome. I have often come across this forum when searching for info on things totally unrelated to tractors. I have always been impressed by the amount of knowledge and experience that exists on this forum and members willingness to share it. :)

You might try one of the repair kits used for automotive plastic bumpers. Seems to be similar material and I have used it with good results. It is a two part epoxy mix that starts to set in about 5-10 minutes. It can be sanded much like bondo but is more flexible. Check out good auto body supply stores and automotive paint stores.

I have a gt235 and have repaired the hood a couple of times. I used a two-part plastic epoxy and scrap plastic on the under side of the hood. The key is to rough up the surfaces. I used a right angle grinder. These repairs have held up for several years.
