i am having trouble hooking up, and unhooking my implements on my new L3000DT.
is this because it is new, and tight? never had this problem on my old tractor,
everything so worn, and loose, it just fell into place.

Need a little more info. What is making it difficult? Pins too tight? Stabilizers difficult to move? Etc.

I'm having a heck of a time with my Bush Hog in particular. It's very difficult to attach and I'm now using a 5' piece of 2x4 to pry it around fractional amounts and make it easier to attach. Like you, I've had older tractors in the past and the implements seemed much easier to attach.

I sympathize with your difficulty. I have a 1962 AC D19 and it is easier to attach 3pt equipment. The older tractor's lift is more worn and allows movement of the lift arms up/down and forward/backward slightly without moving the tractor. Your new tractor requires more precise positioning. Could consider a quick-attach 3pt to help.

i have been looking at those "QUICK HITCHES" in the catalog, has anybody used them?
i am not sure how these work, but it might solve my problem. i do think it is because
everything is new, and tight,is the reason that i am having problems. i appreciate
all of the response. thanks!

Bill, the "Jack Daniels" of quick hitches is Freedom Hitch You still have to get off too connect the PTO, they put the implement further back several inches ( be careful the PTO isn't long enough) , make sure the PTO clears and they are incompatible with post hole diggers. Also, you need a gizmo for each implement but just one for the tractor. You can request a free video on their site or, I think, they have a video clip on the site.
They're perfect for the wife, the kids(if older) and your back. They also will save time and 'cussin'./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

RCH,
i was not able to view the video, even though i made the download. do you have one of these
hitches? if so, how do you like it? there was no price information that i could find on the web site,
so i guess that means it is high. thank you for the information.

Bill, alas I've not a Freedom Hitch. There was alot of discussion about these types of hitches a year+ (Landpride, SpeeCo,Delta hitch) Mark Chalkley, a knowledgible fellow had experience with these and had settled on the Freedom Hitch with first hand acquantance. I'd delve into the archives under " Freedom Hitch" and follow his postings RCH

William, I can't find the video and literature I got from the Freedom Hitch folks, but each piece is a little under $200 and you need the one for the tractor and one for each implement you intend to use with it.

When you go to the Freedom Hitch website, look at the ordering section. It will list the prices. The tractor and each implement section are $195 each.
