I have a PTO operated backhoe, brush hog, and grooming mower for my TC45D. I can not spin the PTO shaft on the tractor when the PTO is disengaged. This is not a problem with the backhoe or hog as I can easily turn their shafts to align the splines, but I can not turn the shaft on the belt driven grooming mower without using a pipe wrench. Seems like a strange situation; I could spin the PTO on my JD (when it was not engaged of course) easily to align it.
Has anyone else noticed this problem and if so any ideas for making it easier to hookup the grooming mower? It is very difficult trying to hold the shaft straight while turning it with a wrench and trying to slide it on.
As a side note is the PTO hysrostatically driven from a second pump or is it gear driven from the transaxle?
