New to the forum but have been reading on here along time. I have a Ford 1210 4x4 with FEL. When I take the FEL off the three point hitch hydraulics do not work. Put FEL back on everything goes back to working fine. I have looked for a lever to redirect hydraulic flow. I have checked fluid levels. I have come to a dead end. Any suggestions? Thanks

I take it that the FEL valve assembly stays with the loader and does not stay on the tractor on this model?. there has to be either a hose to connect the hydraulic flow back towards the 3pt (bypass hose) or a large screw on the hydraulic distribution block to turn to direct the flow the other direction. On more modern machines where the FEL valve assembly stays with the tractor this is automatically accomplished by the Power Beyond port on the valve assembly, So you normally have 3 hoses coming from the distribution block to the FEL valve. 1: Flow from the pump. 2: Return to tank 3: Power beyond. The power beyond powers everything downstream including the 3PT.

If you could post a picture of the hydraulic distribution block and the loader valve assembly, perhaps we could help figure this out. Also I take it you have never taken the loader off before? And this is not something broken but a matter of not knowing how to proceed? please advise.

You did not say that the loader valve was left on the tractor.

If it was left on, there should be no problem as the fluid passes through the loader valve and on to the 3pt.

If the loader arms was powered by two sets of QD, there is no problem as the fluid is blocked even if you did use the lever.

If the loader and valve was disconnected, then you have a pump hose and what was the PB hose going back to the 3pt which should be connected together, and then things should work. Also plug the return hose from the loader valve.

My hyd block has a switch to change the flow path. I just plug excess ports.

Yes , first time taking it off. I don't think there is a pump problem just an operator error. I may need to make up a line for return ,but why? Thanks for your help.

Just find your pump flow on the hyd blk and run that back to the 3pt.

The loader controls came off with the quick disconnect. I have looked for a valve but do not see one. I'm sure your on the right track with needing to connect a return line. In the pictures it shows all the lines in and out. I do not use all of them. The dealer installed them in case I wanted a wood splitter and wanted to leave the FEL on. Thanks to everyone.

The dealer did that plumbing? If it was mine I would make a bracket and move the loader valve to stay with tractor when taking off.

Where is the hose going that is still attached?

The water pipe plumbing has to be the return as you don't use water pipe in hyd.

The QD that the dealer has for the wood splitter, where is it?

There should be a screw control just under the first connection on the hydraulic block.. turn it so that it is at a 45 degree angle like this picture.

Isn't Galvanized water pipe fittings good for 300 PSI..? I bet even that little tractor is 1500 PSI in the hydraulic system at least maybe more.
