Horray - It\'s all downhill from here...

Shortest dang day of the year is NOW. At least we have hit the shortest sunshine day of the year and we are heading towards spring now. We be tractoring in the sun soon instead of playing on these dang puters! Come on Spring and the flowers, grass and garden....

Yup so today is first day of winter (shortest day of year) so it keeps getting better from here on out! I can't wait for it to dry up and the sun shine so I can start straightening out the damn mess the construction people made of my yard. Last year I thought about how to kill all the grass and till and replant - no problem - dang bulldozers got just about all of it destryed and tore up. I have about a 20' high pile of nice black dirt to spread and then smooth it all out and replant. It's like a mud swamp right now. Dog's love it though. Go figure...

I just can't agree with you anymore than I already do. I know just what you mean about teh dog's finding any dirt possible because mine like to track it all over the house too. ha,ha. Well this mornign I have to clean the snow off the drive for the first time this season. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif but wish it was the last time. Nice outlook though...spring is coming.

Uh, er, um, today is the FIRST day of Winter. I believe it will get worse before it gets better. I don't think we will be heading downhill until about March 1st -- I could be wrong, the weather in Ohio may be different than it is here in Maryland /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif.

The pine{minute maid} still standing,and if I can figure out how to use the digital camera...oh honey I need you /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif...I snap some pictures.
Far as feeding the wildlife...couple of people decide I shouldn't be doing so and contacted NH F&G also the city of Lebanon,and I got what I call a nasty gram,/w3tcompact/icons/mad.gifin short stop feeding the deer,/w3tcompact/icons/mad.gif/w3tcompact/icons/mad.gifand still waiting for names to decided what was better for me and the deer.
Ahhh but the brighter side...we had couple of bears during spring,summer,fall that visit often,also a pair of red fox..mother moose couple of times..young bull moose..turkeys yikes..gray horn owl..oh yes 3 fawns.
The nasty gram told me to stop feeding the wildlife,but as my better have said since were now together"my name not on the paper" and she does a little cooking on the side../w3tcompact/icons/wink.gifshould be most interesting.
And how are you doing w/your wildlife?
I guess your about ready for the holidays and hoping for some seat time.

DrDan, your right on that one. We did several years in Iceland and this was a day that was as looked forward to as some of our holidays. 24 hours of darkness is alot and gaining a few minutes of daylight a day was greatly appreciated. On the other side all that daylight had it's down side too!!!!
