There is a large indoor event arena near us that uses what looks like shredded wood for a surface, hopeless for showjumping as it is like running across a big foam mattress and compresses when the horse launches, soft if you fall off though.

Yes the barrels are in the same place all the time so that becomes an issue. If we set a jump course you just need to remember to set them slightly differently the next time.

The shredded wood is an awful surface..... easy for a horse to get injured.
