Horse people- manure spreader

I just purchased a used millcreek manure spreader, model 50. I understand that it has not been made for about 20 years. I can get parts from Millcreek, but I think they may be a little high. I am needing a PTO Shaft. It has a 1 in yoke and is about 60 in long. About $266 from millcreek plus freight. Anyone have any ideas where I can find one. Most shafts have a 1 3/8 yoke or bigger.

PTO shafts are available from any farm store if you just need a replacement. They are also available from a variety of sites like agrisupply. Just match to your needs.

1 in yoke on both ends?

The tractor end would almost definitely need to be a standard 1 3/8 6 spline yoke. The end that goes into the implement may be a custom end. I know my old JD cutter uses a keyed shaft on the implement end and not a 1 3/8 6 spline connection

It has the standard 6 spline on the tractor end and a 1 in bore with pin on spreader end. I can find a lot of smooth bore 1 3/8 and 1/12 on the attachment end but not a smaller one. I can buy the yoke end by itself and put it on a new pto shaft, But then you have the cost of the shaft, the price of the yoke and the time. It might be best to pay the $266 for the OEM. I don't see anything on Agri Supply with a 1 in shaft, This is a longer shaft but smaller hp. Most likely 20 to 25 hp at most. I think the compressed length is about 60 inches.

cglaser, that would work. I will have to check if it would save any money over buying the OEM.
