I've noticed a fair amount of discussion about heat build-up at the feet. For what it's worth, I was surprised to learn that the radiator fan on my new 4410 blows forward. I learned that when consulting my JD mechanic about the battery leakage problem that we are all so well aware of. The mechanic told me that the acid would not damage the radiator because it would be blown forward and on to the grille. Now I'm wondering if later fans have been reversed because of the battery situation and earlier models perhaps blow back toward the engine, like most fans. If so, that might explain excess heat at the operator's feet.

Are you sure it now blows forward? They would have to move the metal filter/screen (that sits in front of the radiator on my 4400) to behind the radiator for it to do any good -- was this done?
