Tractor
John Deere 5525
My John Deere 5525 rear remotes get to hot to touch after operating tractor. I知 not using either valve. Just shredding with a 6 shredder.

In an open center system the fluid circulates through all the valves constantly, going out the work ports when a valve is moved from the neutral position. When the fluid gets warm the valves get warm.

So I’m guessing this is normal?

Depends on how hot it gets. Your tractor isn't an HST so the fluid should stay fairly cool. If a valve is dead headed (due to being stuck open) the relief will trip. Forcing fluid through the relief will heat it up. So double check that none of the valves are stuck. I can hear the relief valve but it's not that loud so it's possible to miss it.

I have noticed the SVC on the fender getting pretty warm when I have been brush hogging on steep hills, but my tractor's an HST so that's to be expected.
