I have a TC34DA I bought new last year. The hour meter quit at 47 hours but all fuses appear okay. Anything else I can check without taking it back to the dealer?
thanks

Does the tach work?

Yes - all other instruments seem to work fine.
Thanks

Presumably you are under warranty. Probably going to take a new instrument panel to cure it. Two screws and one electrical connector. If it's more convenient for you, see if the dealer will let you swap it out rather than hauling the machine in. Seems like an awful lot of NH owners here have dealers that do little or no road service. It's ridiculous to haul a tractor in for that repair, IMHO.

I'll check into that suggestion - sounds much more reasonable than taking the entire tractor in.
Thanks

The hour meter on my DX40 quit soon after I brought it home last year. The dealer came and picked it up at no cost. I like the ideas of others, if they won't pick up the tractor for free, ask for a new instrument panel. Good idea.

Okay - see if you believe this. I took the 2 screws out of the control panel and removed it to see if any loose connections. Everything looked fine so I put it back in place. I leveled a load of rocks for a neighbor and guess what - the hour meter was working. I used it today with a mower behind it and it worked fine tallying about an additional hour. I have no idea what I done so it must have just been something loose. I'll let you know if it quits again.
thanks

I would recommend that you get it fixed anyway. Mine was working, then not working, then would start working again all within an hour. At least pay attention the next hour or two of operation and if it fails, talk to your dealer.

That's probably good advice since when I used the tractor today I couldn't take me eyes off the meter to see if it was moving!

HaHa...It has been over a year since I got my tractor and the hour meter fixed (probably a lot of the electrical system in the dash) and I still watch that hour meter closely. I want to make sure that I get that oil changed when needed!
