Well we are getting closer.

This past weekend we called out a friend to come "locate" the water line so we could get it capped off. I asked him before if he had a locater, he said, i have a a backhoe, thats how i locate. Instead he brought out his trenching machine and trenched a 6' cut cross were we thought the pipe would be. (he found it)

find the pics and a 7 meg movie of the trencher cutting throught the 1' of frozen ground.

In theory we are now T-minus a month. and Im ready to be done with it before spring!

Worked for me, that video really shows how hard the ground is, that's a plastic water service? and your saving it for a future home? If your planning to burn the house down, that would make a good video.

yes it was 3/4" scd 40 PVC.

Which is odd as the water line serviceing the yard hydrant is 3/4" soft coper. so i dont know were it changes.

I suspect we might tie into it for when we build the new house in the exsiting location. At least untill then i can put a in a yard hydrant after they burn it down.

I used two 5 gallon buckets stacked on top of each other as a "manhole" so i could acess it later. (but i dont think i got pics of that)

Looks like frozen ground? Or hardpan like we get out here...

Are you really gonna burn it? If so, the local FD would surely be excited if they could use the building for training. It is really cool when we get to train in real buildings. Usually we start with searches, making entry. Then fires are set in individaul rooms, and multiple attacks are made. The fire may be rekindled more than once in each room to allow multiple crews to put it out.

Training in a real building is much more realistic than brick "burn buildings".

Make sure you video or take pics. We'd all like to see how it turns out.

Speaking of video...(don't mean to steal your thread)...but I just watched the Revielle video on MrJimi's signature. Everyone should take a moment to view it. May God bless all those who serve this great country of ours!!!
